NetSafe Smart Toolkit

Client: Netsafe NZ
Project: Online safety

Brief
Netsafe wanted to address the need for resources for Māori online safety, and Tātai Aho Rau were contracted to develop them.
The resources target to ākonga ages 10 – 14 years, and comprise six online interactive micro-learning modules  which include video to engage learners and optimise learning opportunities.

The resources are intended to
develop media literacy, recognise disinformation, and engage positively and safely online

Our solution

We produced six short scenarios in te reo Māori for the modules. In each video two ākonga face a series of situations in which their critical media literacies are challenged. They take advice from adults, or come to their own conclusions about the best way to deal with the situation.
